Shore to Please Giveaway Event: Cocktail Rx

Now nothing reminds me of the beach or the summer as much as a nice refreshing cocktail. Sitting at a deck, over-looking the water, sipping a nice cool drink... I love my margaritas...and cosmos...and appletinis and lemon drops!
Well, I stumbled across Cocktail Rx the other day and am very excited that I have.  Cocktail Rx Shakers are already filled with the cocktail mix-you just add water, vodka, and then mix.
I received for review a package of 3 different types of cocktail mixers- Cosmo, Appletini, and Lemon Drop flavors.
I love how the shakers are reusable and come with the mix. I've bought mixers to BBQs before as hostess gifts only to find out that the host didn't have a shaker. Or I've brought drinks with me on a girls getaway or bachelorette party and then had to mix drinks in a red solo cup.

Now as for the taste, I was impressed by how good these mixers were.  My friends and I tested them out. Just as good as your local bar. Each shaker is enough for 8 drinks so one shaker goes a long way.
Why we're bringing Cocktail RX to the beach: With a built-in shaker, we can have drinks anywhere.
Want to buy: Want to stock up on Cocktail RX Shakers? You can find them at Shoprites  You can find them on Amazon.com

Now...Cocktail RX has generously offered a giveaway! Enter to win 1 bottle of the three flavors I received. To enter, please complete the Rafflecopter form below.

No compensation was received for this post. A product was sent for review but a positive review was not necessary.  Cocktail RX is providing the prize for the winner.   The contest is void where prohibited and winner is responsible for any and all taxes. 18 and older only. US only!

Giveaway Event: $15 Cash for Zazzle

Time for Christmas cards! Whether you want cards for your first Christmas together as newlyweds,     baby's first Christmas, or just because it's Christmas, I have found the shop for you-Zazzle.com

I've been selling on Zazzle for years now and love it! The customer service has been top-notch-every order has been shipped fast and I haven't had a problem. Best of all, you can customize practically everything-add your own photMerry and Bright Christmas Photo Card | Blueos, change the fonts, whatever!

I am loving the variety of the Christmas cards that Zazzle has.  Since designers can create their own cards and sell them on Zazzle, you get a much bigger variety of cards.  Looking for a fancier family newsletter? A nautical themed Christmas card? Yep, Zazzle has it.

This one to the right is so perfect for families-very modern and fresh. Finding modern Christmas cards can be tough but this one is trendy enough.

Or this classic one for baby's first Christmas-love the simplicity and the colors here.   The best part here is the cost-these professional cards cost just 62 cents per card when you buy 50.

Or this stylish Christmas card. Loving the colors on this too! The biggest decision is narrowing the choices down!

Don't forget about the other Christmas cards you give out too. For just a few bucks, you can create a completely customized card that lets others know you care-and is so much more personal than something from Hallmark.  Here's one for your sister who can't get enough of yoga.  A zombie gingerbread card for your husband who is way too into The Walking Dead.  Festivus cards for the Seinfeld fans.  For your cousins who spend the holiday in Hawaii-lucky!

And of course Zazzle has a bunch of other personalized gifts that are great for Christmas too! I love to give out coffee mugs or  funny T-shirts.  And for kids, I love buying personalized Cookies for Santa plates.   So much to choose from!

Now...we are going to give you $15 to spend on Zazzle this season! Why? Because we're thankful that you read our blog!  Please note that Zazzle is not a sponsor of this contest.  To enter, please complete the Rafflecopter form below.  This giveaway is listed on contestgirl.com.

Shore to Please Giveaway Event: SeaSnax

Okay, I'll readily admit to one of my vices-I'm a snacker. I could snack all-day so I'm always on the lookout for healthy snacks.

Luckily I stumbled upon SeaSnax. What is SeaSnax? SeaSnax is a Non-GMO Project Verified roasted seaweed snack which is vegan, gluten-free, and made using 100% olive oil and just a pinch of sea salt - just three all natural ingredients! There are no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives and since SeaSnax is made from seaweed it is high in vitamins (B1, B6, C), vegetable protein, fiber, iron and other minerals and trace elements necessary to maintain good health. Best of all, SeaSnax is a low fat, cholesterol and sugar free.

SeaSnax are available in Classic (olive oil and sea salt), Toasty Onion, Wasabi & Spicy Chipotle! They come in Grab & Go Packs which are great for snacks. The Singles can be used to make sushi, add to soup, etc.

I was intrigued. I had never had seaweed before and was unsure of the taste. I won't lie-it does taste like seaweed. At first I was expecting more if a potato-chip flavor and texture. However, like their website claims the taste is strangely addictive and this is very true.  Everyone who tried it-and our group had very varied tasters-ended up liking it.

The Spicy Chipotle flavor is very spicy and hot.  Classic was a little bland for me but I loved Wasabi and Toasty Onion.
The only downside I can see is that it does look like seaweed. This meant that my picky 4 year-old niece wouldn't even try it.

To buy: Want to try SeaSnax? Grab and go packs are just $8.95 and the Seasnax Singles are just $3.99 You can find local retailers that carry SeaSnax here.

Now...SeaSnax has generously offered to provide one winner with a case of the Grab n Go's or 4 packs of their full sheet singles in any flavor.  To enter, please complete the Rafflecopter form below.  This giveaway is listed on contestgirl.com and prizey.net

Shore to Please Giveaway Event: FoldFlops

We've all been there.  You've been out all night and the stilettos that were looking so cute before are now killing your feet. Or you're getting a pedicure and realize that your only options are your expensive, not so comfortable sandals or the flimsy dollar flip-flops.

Well the solution is here-FoldFlops. FoldFlops are sandals that are fold-able.
FoldFlops fold in half easily so that they can be stored in their own carrying pouch.
Stick them in your purse to change half-way through the night or to wear them apres-pedicure.

I was sent a pair of FoldFlops in black to review. You can buy them in black, red, champagne, blue, or pink for women or black or champagne for men.  They're available in sizes 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, or 11-12.

First, I was very impressed with the quality of the shoe. Since they were foldable I worried that they would feel more like disposable shoes. Instead, I was surprised to see how durable they were.  These are better than many of my other pairs of flip-flops.  Thanks to another sandal mishap, I had to wear these for six hours one night-they were super comfortable!

FoldFlops are custom molded with high quality EVA construction that the website states make them perfect for continued wear. The shoes have a porous edged topsole to resist dirt and sweat, a ridged outsole to minimize slip, and a cushioned inset to maximize foot and arch support provide high-level comfort. Foldflops are waterproof and UV resistant.

These are a perfect addition to your gym bag or purse.  Now, anytime you need a pair of sandals you have one.

To buy: Go to Foldflops.com. They're just $20 each.

Now...FoldFlops has generously offered to provide one winner with a pair of FoldFlops . To enter, please complete the Rafflecopter form below.  This giveaway is listed on contestgirl.com.

No compensation was received for this post. A product was sent by FoldFlops for review but a positive review was not necessary.  FoldFlops is providing the prize for the winner.   The contest is void where prohibited and winner is responsible for any and all taxes. 18 and older only. US only!

Shore to Please Giveway Event: Sand Gone

Okay I love, love, love the beach except for one thing: sand.  No matter what I do, for weeks after my last beach trip I will find sand on me. And day trips are the worst-sand gets all over the car and makes the ride home uncomfortable.

Luckily a product has been invented to alleviate our problems.  Sand Gone is a dry body powder that, when applied to sand covered skin, removes the sand without irritating the skin. The powder is non-toxic and non-talc and contains just a hint of coconut fragrance.
Sand Gone comes in a large 8 oz container with a powder puff. To remove sand, you apply the powder with the puff to whatever body part you're trying to remove the sand from. The large container means that one container will easily last the entire summer.

I was lucky enough to receive one to try out. I did try it out because in the winter and spring months I still love to walk along the beach. This removed the sand easily. (Luckily too since there weren't any facilities to wash off either.) This would also come in handy at sandboxes during the year.

This is one of those products that you would probably never seek out but that once you have you wonder how you ever lived without it.

To buy: If you're interested in buying Sand Gone please go to to the website Sandgone.com. Each container is just $12.95.

Now...Sand Gone has generously offered to provide one winner with a container of Sand Gone. To enter, please complete the Rafflecopter form below.  This giveaway is listed on contestgirl.com.

No compensation was received for this post. A product was sent by Sand Gone for review but a positive review was not necessary.  Sand Gone is providing the gift code for the winner.   The contest is void where prohibited and winner is responsible for any and all taxes.

Shore to Please Giveaway Event: Go Cocktails Prize Pack

Now nothing reminds me of the beach or the summer as much as a nice refreshing cocktail. Sitting at a deck, over-looking the water, sipping a nice cool drink... I love my margaritas...and cosmos...and appletinis and lemon drops!  Of course, during swimsuit season I can't indulge as often as I would like because the calories in an average cocktail would mean my swimsuit wouldn't look quite as good.

Well, Go Cocktails has solved this problem.  Each of their cocktail mixers is just 5 calories! That's not a typo-not 50 calories, not 150 calories-just 5 calories each!

I received for review a package of 4 different types of cocktail mixers-Margarita, Cosmo, Appletini, and Lemon Drop flavors. Each mix is just 5 calories and is both sugar free & gluten free.

I love how they come in single-serve packets.  These packets are incredibly convenient-the size of a Crystal Light packet they can be taken with you which means you can enjoy your diet drinks at a bar, restaurant, or a friend's BBQ.

The mixes are dry and you mix them yourself.  It's very easy to make your drink-just take the mix, add water, and the appropriate alcohol and viola-a great cocktail!

Now as for the taste, I was impressed by how good these mixers were.  My friends and I tested them out-no one even guessed that they were low-calorie.  Yes, they really are that good.

What I Loved:
-The single-serve packets make it easy to take with you.
-The taste!   You won't miss the extra 100 calories at all.
-Just 5 Calories! Every diet can afford 5 calories.

What's Not to Love:
-Nothing! I wish they could add more flavors.

Why we're bringing Go Cocktails to the beach: At just 5 calories, anyone can indulge guilt-free!

Want to buy: Want to stock up on Go Cocktails! A box of 8 packets is just $4.99-just 62 cents per drink!  You can find them on Amazon.com

Now...Go Cocktails! has generously offered to provide one winner with a prize package with 1 box of each flavor and a cup! To enter, please complete the Rafflecopter form below.

No compensation was received for this post. A product was sent by Go Cocktails! for review but a positive review was not necessary.  Go Cocktails! is providing the gift code for the winner.   Affiliate links may have been used in this post.

Shore to Please Giveaway Event: $85 Hapari Swimwear Gift Certificate

The summer is almost here and that means one thing for most of us: it's swimsuit season!  Now, I'm sure I'm not alone in my desperate search to find swimsuits that are both flattering and reasonably priced.  Well, in my quest I stumbled across Hapari Swimwear.

Hapari has a huge line of swimwear-from bikinis to tankinis to one-piece suits.  For two-pieces, you can buy each separately which allows you to customize your suit and get the perfect fit. The sizing ranges from 0 to 3x so there is a size that will fit you.

Here's a look at some of the swimsuits that will end up on your shopping list:

Hapari has an amazing collection of swim skirts like the Raspberry Ice Ruffle Skirt shown to the left.  I love swim skirts because they provide more coverage while still making you look fashionable. (No need to show everything ladies!) Of course, you can also use them as a cover-up. Skirted bottoms really go from the beach to the boardwalk.

Hapari has quite a collection of prints available for their swimsuits. Here's the Dolce Allure Bandeau Tankini top.  Many of their tankini tops can be worn three different ways: halter, tank, and criss-cross! Many also have pockets to add silicone breast inserts if you want extra oomph.  I am loving the versatility of these tops!

Here's a great example of Hapari's one-pieces. I love the print on the Island Mocha Sport.  Even better is the price tag-just $39!  I also love that you can tie the straps in 3 different ways: halter style, criss-cross or traditional tank style.

I'm sure that whatever type of swimsuit you're looking for that Hapari has it!  They also have mastectomy, junior girls, boys, and mens swimwear.

Now...Hapari has generously offered to provide one winner with a $85 gift code for their website. To enter, please complete the Rafflecopter form below.  This giveaway is listed on contestgirl.com, Prizey.net, and Blog Giveaway Directory.

No compensation was received for this post. Hapari is providing the gift code for the winner.

The idea behind this is that contest entrants are not just entering a contest-they're pinning to their favorite boards and finding new recipes for the future. Review & Giveaway: The Birthday Chronicle

As we get older, it becomes harder to find birthday gifts for our loved ones.  For my father's 60th, I was stumped for a gift.  There are quite a few things I'm sure he would love-suite tickets to the Phillies, autographed memorabilia, front-row tickets to Tom Petty, etc. but most of those gifts are a little out of my price range right now. Or maybe you have friends that you want to give a small gift to-something personalized and sweet but inexpensive.

Along came The Birthday Chronicle.  The Birthday Chronicle is a snapshot of a newspaper from the birthday of your recipient. It's interesting to see what happened on your (or your recipient's birthday.)

Among the things I really liked about The Birthday Chronicle:

-It gets delivered within 48 hours if you choose e-mail delivery. Great for last-minute gifts. I received my copy within 24 hours.
-An e-mail copy costs only $2.  That's right-just $2! Perfect for small gifts.
-All proceeds from items sent via e-mail go to help children in need.

I really enjoyed my copy of The Birthday Chronicle and I know my father is going to like it.  He loves trivia about his birthday year and will love the quirky facts this has.

Of course there's a giveaway now too! You can win a copy of The Birthday Chronicle.  We'd like to thank the sponsors for making this available to us.

Use Yelp to Save Money

By now you're probably familiar with Yelp, the "real people, real reviews" website.  Chances are if you Google anything, the Yelp review will come up.  Besides giving you reviews that help you decide if you want to spend your hard-earned cash at a place, Yelp can actually save you money.  Here's how:

Look for check-in offers with the Yelp app.  In the Yelp app, go to "Nearby" and then select "Check-In Offers."  A list of coupons or special offers will pop-up. They will only be "unlocked" or usable after you have checked-in.

Check-in offers vary but they can help save you money. For example, many offers are buy one, get one free.  At Gaetano's of West Berlin in New Jersey, check-in to get 1 free 2 Liter soda with any purchase or check-in to Revive Fitness in Philadelphia to get 1 free class.  Other deals include 25% off at Q BBQ and Tequila, 10% off total store purchase at Di Bruno Bros, and $10 off $50 at Sports Authority in Philadelphia.

The nice part about Check-In Offers-you don't have to plan ahead or clip coupons for them. Instead if you're out, you search for Check-In Offers to grab last-minute deals.

Helpful Info:
  • The Yelp app is available for the Iphone, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7, and Palm Pre. Of course, it's free.
  • Not sure what a check-in is? A check-in lets your Yelp friends know where you are or where you've been. On the Yelp app, select Check-Ins when you arrive at a location. After you have checked-in, you can tap on the offer to reveal the offer and how to redeem it.
  • Remember to check the offers frequently. Offers change often.
  • Most offers aren't going to be valid with other coupons or deals from sites like Living Social or Groupon.

Warning: Why I won't use Paypal ever again

Many of us use Paypal on a daily basis, not just for purchases made through eBay. I know that in the past I have often used Paypal to purchase pretty much all of my items online-things from Etsy, etc.  This has now changed. After my most recent experience I will never use Paypal again.

My story: I purchased something from a website that came with a 90 day money-back guarantee. Very simple guarantee-if you are not happy please contact us and we will be happy to refund you.  I contacted the website-they sidestepped around refunding me the money.  I then contacted Paypal to see what I could do.

The answer-nothing! Paypal has a dispute resolution process for upto 45 days after you paid-anything after 45 days and a dispute cannot be opened.  For any reason, including one like this where the seller was claiming to offer a 90 day guarantee.

Frankly I am shocked and disappointed with Paypal's policy (as well as their customer service-five emails have been sent to me each one saying that "you can open a dispute up to 45 days after the transaction date. Hope this helps.")  I've found several other people who had similar instances-they purchased something with a 60 day guarantee, it broke at 45 days, they asked for a refund, and Paypal won't help them.  Unfortunately if we had purchased with a major credit card, we would most likely be able to get our money back.

Paypal should not be allowing websites that use Paypal to collect money to rip-off their customers.   Instead Paypal should be investigating claims like this and making websites honor their guarantees-or those websites would not be able to use Paypal anymore.

I still planning on suing the website to get the money back but this is another lengthy step that shouldn't have to be taken by the average consumer.

I will never use Paypal again for major purchases.

My advice:
-Use credit cards online exclusively for better protection and service.  I have had similar situations happen with my Discover and Visa-both times the card company worked with ME to get the item replaced or to get my money back.

-Realize that with Paypal longer guarantees are useless.  Since you only have 45 days to open a dispute, a guarantee of 1 year or 6 months is useless unless you are paying with a major credit card.

-Same with Paypal's verified seller status. My situation is with a verified seller.  It means nothing. Stick with credit cards.

-Don't use Paypal for any online services.  I learned my lesson and am publishing this so others don't have to be ripped off in the future.

For my first giveaway here at Jersey on a Budget, I’ve got a giveaway that you’re going to love! I have teamed up with some fellow bloggers to give away a Kindle Fire ($199 value!) to one lucky reader!

The Kindle Fire is really awesome. Look at the features:

-WiFi enabled

-access to thousands of popular apps like Netflix, Pandora, and Espn

-access to 19 million movies, TV shows, songs, magazines, and books!

It has super fast web browsing powered by Amazon Silk (which supports Adobe Flash Player) and you get cloud storage for all of your Amazon content.

But what if you don’t win the Kindle Fire? That’s a bummer, right? How about we give away $20 PayPal cash to one lucky reader, too? Sounds like a plan to me! Enter to win below!

The giveaway is open to US AND CANADA. If Kindle winner is a resident of Canada, they will receive an Amazon gift card for the value of a Kindle Fire.

Things to Do: Beer School in Cherry Hill

Looking to find out a little more about beer, other than "it goes well with my pretzels."  On the third Monday of every month from 6:30 to 7:30 PM, Dubh Linn Square’s Cherry Hill's beer experts will present a sampling and discussion of three beers brewed in one style, along with snacks that pair with the beers. The inaugural class on January 16th, entitled ‘Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark’ will feature three stouts. Of course Guinness will be included, as well as a Russian Imperial Stout and a locally brewed stout which will be unveiled at the event. The cost to attend each session is $20 per person. Call 856-520-8312 to reserve a space. Click here to view a short video presenting the program and introducing Dubh Linn Square Pub’s Beoir Scoil Dean, Patricia McGeough, who has twenty years of brewing experience that has taken her all over the world: http://www.youtube.com/user/PeterVBreslow#p/u/6/Y-yd-8hxU_U

Chris Christie was on The Simpsons

Sort of. Jersey's favorite governor was made fun of on last weekend's "The Simpsons."  The plot- Homer becomes a political pundit with his own bombastic television show.  Simpson is later asked by his wealthy boss Mr. Burns which Republican candidate for president he likes.  “I don’t know,” he says. “Can’t we get Chris Christie to run?”  “I don’t think so,” replies Mr. Burns.  Burns then gestures and points to a “Simpson-ized” version of Chris Christie. He’s shown as being substantially overweight, with scattered remains of food around him, as he wolfs down a drumstick and chokes on it.  As he chokes, he says “Save me, Obamacare.”  (Read more here.)

Hey Christie, I guess it's safe to say that you've made it.
